Welcome to the IBM Impact 2013 Global Conference. This is your destination for essential information on the conferences and special events for press.

General information on the event can be found here.

Please keep in mind that the Venetian Hotel is a very large complex. Please be sure to bring comfortable shoes to wear during the conference. Dress code for the show is business casual. 

Your hosts at the event will be the IBM media relations team. For help on site, please go to the media relations staff work room located in Casanova 503 beginning on Sunday, April 28.

You can contact the IBM team members for help. Their contact information is to the right under “Communications Team on Site.”

After arriving at Las Vegas – McCarran International Airport, you can buy a phone card to call home and announce that you have arrived safely. You can also buy a phone card at the hotel.

Ground Transportation:

There are several ground transportation options from McCarran International Airport. You are responsible for ground transportation to and from the airport and hotel.

Independent companies provide taxi and limousine service. Taxis can be found outside the baggage claim area. The approximate cost for one-way taxi is $15 for up to 5 people.

The Venetian Hotel provides free direct shuttle service for Gold and Platinum Grazie Resort Loyalty Program members to and from McCarran International Airport. The Grazie shuttle service is also available to all other guests at a cost of $6.00 per person each way. Children 2 years old and under travel free and shuttles depart as they fill.

The booth and pick up location from McCarran International to The Venetian is outside door #8 on the lower level, near baggage carousels 2 and 4. Check-in is at the Executive Vegas Booth and the hours of operation for direct shuttle service is 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Outside of those hours, the shuttle may stop at other hotels. From The Venetian to McCarran International, the pick-up location is at Porte-Cochere and check-in is with the shuttle driver. The shuttle departs every half hour starting at the top of the hour, and operates from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Hotels:

The Venetian and Palazzo Hotels are connected by a walkway which conveniently leads to the Impact 2013 conference in The Venetian Congress Center.

Per your individual hotel confirmation, you will be checking in at one of two hotels assigned to press for Impact:

You will be asked for a credit card for the purposes of deposit for possible in-room services that will not be covered by IBM (phone, movie, snack bar, food, etc). 

The check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

Conference Registration:

Please pick up your conference badge at the Impact 2013 registration desk. There will be easy to follow signs throughout the conference site. Please note that you will need to present photo identification to register.

Registration will be open at the following times:

Sunday:    12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Monday:   6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Please note that your conference badge will be required for all conference activities.

IBM Press Work Room: Casanova 503

We encourage you to use the facilities in the IBM press work room, which is equipped with Internet, phones and printing access. However, you will need to supply your own laptop for the duration of the conference. There will be wireless Internet connection in all areas of the conference. 

The work room will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday. Please check for extended hours after you arrive.

Meals:

During the conference, IBM will provide breakfast and lunch in the IBM Press Center (Casanova 503). Breakfast will be available Monday (6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.) and Tuesday (7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.). Buffet lunch will be available both days from noon until 2:00 p.m.

There is also a press reception Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., in Marco Polo 803, where dinner will be available. However, please note that attendees will be responsible for making their own dinner arrangements on Tuesday evening, as well as Wednesday evening for any individuals still in attendance. 

Departure:

Transportation to the airport is available from the front of the resort. Please allow yourself at least two hours once you arrive at the airport to complete boarding pass, security check and transfer to the terminal.

Cancellation:

Should your plans change and you find will not be attending, please contact one of the IBM Media Relations team or Text100 Public Relations.
